Mermen By Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Mermen
by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Book Synopsis

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

These Mermen Don't Have Tails, Their Deadly as Hell, and They've Got Something He Wants...

INFAMOUS BACHELOR and SELF-MADE BILLIONAIRE ROEN DORAN IS A BASTARD. Yes, he knows it. And no, he doesn't care. He's got money and power, and he depends on no one. But when his estranged father dies, willing him a secret island, Roen will come face to face with an even bigger secret: its occupants. And these savage, sea-obsessed warriors are quick to make their position clear: Leave now or die.

There's only one problem. Nobody tells Roen what to do. Ever. Oh, and one other thing. He's just met the island's other new "guest" and something about her brings out his possessive side.

SOLE SHIPWRECK SURVIVOR LIV STRATTON had been adrift at sea for ten grueling days when salvation miraculously appeared: an uncharted island. Only, the deceivingly beautiful men who live there aren't interested in saving her. No, not at all. Because they somehow believe she is their property, a gift from the ocean to do with as they please. This is not good.

Her only hope? Billionaire Roen Doran, of all people. A man who's said to care for nothing and no one. But if he's so heartless, then why is he about to risk everything to help her?

NOTE FROM MIMI ABOUT MERMEN: Anyone who has read the Accidental Series or King knows I love to flip things on their heads. Mermen is no exception. THIS IS NOT A FLUFFY STORY ABOUT men with fins and tails who sweep ladies off their feet and make them long to be mermaids. Uh-uh. This is NOT that kind of story. Nobody in their right mind would want to hang out with these very beautiful yet dangerous men (who don't actually have tails, fins, or gills, by the way) NOR would anyone want to be their mates. Well, at least, not me! Run. Away!!

Hope you enjoy the ride. - MIMI

Well Mimi has done it once again she has left me in utter amazement of her talent. In the past couple of years Mimi has brought us the Accidentally Series , Happy Pants , King , and the Fate series and now she has done it again with Mermen. In Mermen you will be transported to a magical island in the middle of the sea named El Corazon. The island is more that it seems and so are the men that protect it. WARNING CLIFFS AHEAD !!!!! If you have read any of Mimi's books then you  know she is the Queen of Cliffhangers and this book is no exception so we can only hope that book two comes out soon so we are not left waiting for to long.

Troika Synopsis

In book one of Unconventional Love: Jenika leaves her hometown after experiencing the worst of what life had in store for her: grieving a parent who meant everything to her, the loss of her job, and even the betrayal of her fiancé and best friend. While trying to find inner peace once more, she lands in the small town of Troika, MT and not only is the town not what it seems-it turns out to be the place she craves and longs for, one that offers love, acceptance, and the life she has always dreamed about.
Jase, Koen, and Ty have been friends a long time. Their lives are entwined with business and family, though missing something vital to be complete. When Jenika shows up in their town, the thoughts of having it all, quickly surfaces in their minds as they find they want the same thing from her.
No road comes without bumps and as this foursome struggles with separate issues, it leaves them wondering if they will reach their end goal: the life they crave, need, and the union that will fill the void they each carry.
Only two things stand in their way: Pasts that threaten to keep them apart and the acceptance of others for their unconventional love.

REVIEW

***** Five Stars

This book was amazing which didn't surprise me Zana is an amazing writer. This is Zana's second book and the first book in the Unconventional Love Series. It begins with Jenika having one of the worst days a girl could dream of she has just lost her dad now her job only to come home to find her best friend and fiancee in her father's bed. What is a girl to do when you lose everything you ever wanted in the span of a few months? Jenika decides that if she has any chance of staying sane she needs to start over again far away from her small town and her cheating ex.It sounds like a good plan that is until she breaks down in the small town of Troika a couple of days before the 4th of July and meets Jase, Koen, and Ty. She has no idea her life will never be the same. I couldn't put this book down I stayed up most of the night so I could finish. If you are into Menage then you need to get well acquainted with the name Zana King because you will be hard pressed to find a better Arthur in this genre of books.

Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice

Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice
By Michelle M Pillow
***1/2 Stars

"She found herself unimpressed with him, having expected more of the legendary man--Brant. Lord Blackwell. Brant the Gladiator. Brant the Vigorous. Brant the Flame. Brant the Viking Hero. Della snorted in unladylike disgust. More like, Brant the Thorn in my Arse!"

Lady Della the Cold-Hearted
Lady Della despises all things Viking. They may rule the land, but they will never rule her. Unfortunately, her father doesn't seem to agree. To prove his continued allegiance to the Viking king, the Ealdorman of Strathfeld betroths his only daughter to a respected Viking Lord--a warrior who's legendary prowess isn't reserved for the battlefield. Fighting the newfound craving in her body and the unwelcome fire in her heart, Della must choose between everything she knows to be true and the one thing she never expected...

Lord Brant of Blackwell, the Fiery One
Lord Blackwell is as fiery on the battlefield as he is in his passions. He has fought valiantly for King Guthrum and has earned the respect of the nobles. When his overlord offers the hand of his beautiful daughter and the right to inherit his lands, Blackwell can hardly refuse. However, he soon discovers that his noble bride is anything but the meek and mild woman he envisioned for his wife. One minute she's kissing him back, the next she's swearing to do whatever it takes to dissuaded him from their marriage. Can his lust for life and his new bride melt the ice that surrounds her heart? Or will Lady Della the Cold be this warrior's undoing?

The idea for the story itself is really good and is a pleasant read, it just didn't keep me completely enthralled with the story line. This is one of those books that is good, but a little too predictable. I found myself caught between not being able to put the book down to wishing it would hurry up and be done already. I found I could easily put down and not think about for days and then pick it up later and continue on. This is the fourth book I have read by Michelle and I am not sure if she is my type of writer, so I will not be doing any more reviews of her books. Please take this as only my opinion and as an honest reviewer, you may want to give her a chance her books are decent enough and have good storylines.
